CDON Group AB, the leading e-commerce group in the Nordic region, today announced that it has expanded its Sport & Health segment through the launch of Bodystore.de in Germany. Bodystore.de is a German sister e-retailer to Swedish Gymgrossisten.com and offers a broad selection of nutritional supplements, fitness apparel and training equipment.
The launch of Bodystore.de on the German market is a response to the successful expansion of Gymgrossisten in the Nordic markets, which in addition to Gymgrossisten.com in Sweden also includes Gymgrossisten.no in Norway, Fitnesstukku.fi in Finland and Bodystore.dk in Denmark.
Bodystore.de offers a wide range of leading international brands, an additional range of German products and the introduction of Gymgrossisten’s private label Star Nutrition, which has a leading position in Scandinavia.
CDON Group's Sports & Health segment reported a sales growth of 32% year on year to SEK 280 million for the first nine months 2011, which reflected the ongoing investments in geographic expansion of the segment.
Paul Fischbein, President and CEO of CDON Group, commented: “The launch of Bodystore in the German market is in line with our growth strategy to broaden our product offerings, expanding our businesses geographically and adding new brands to our portfolio.”
“CDON Group has a scalable business model that allows us to launch in new territories cost efficiently, as demonstrated by the recent launch of our fashion retailer Nelly.com across the EU. We are excited to expand Gymgrossisten beyond the Nordic region and we look forward to bringing our offering and shopping experience to new customers in the German market.”
