The launch of CDON.COM in 1999, which initially sold music CDs via internet sites in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, became the origin of what today is CDON Group, which has grown strongly since by broadening its offering and launching new internet stores, in combination with selective acquisitions.
CDON.COM is now the number one online retailer of entertainment products in the Nordic region, with a broad offering of DVDs, computer games, CDs, books and electronic products, as well as music downloads and on-demand film streaming services. Swedish online toy retailer Lekmer.com was acquired in April 2010.
CDON Group’s Fashion business was established in 2007 with the acquisition of fashion retailer Nelly.com. In September 2011 we launched Members.com.
The Sports & Health business was established in 2008 with the acquisition of nutritional supplement retailer Gymgrossisten.com, and its Finnish equivalent Fitnesstukku.fi, and dietary and health supplement retailer Bodystore.com.
The latest addition, CDON Groups Home & Garden business was established through the acquisitions of the Swedish brand furniture and interior decorations retailer RUM21.se in January 2011 and the Nordic white goods and household appliances retailer Tretti.com in June 2011.
The Group today consists of nine internet retailing stores and is a prominent operator in the Nordic internet retailing market. Our portfolio consists of a broad assortment offering movies, games, music, clothing, shoes, toys and nutritional supplements. The product range contains both physical products as well as digital products for download and streaming. The customer database amounts to over two million active customers.
